One-Day On-Site Operational AssessmentWednesday, September 30, 2026 • On-Site Assessment

Lead-to-Cash Assessment Revenue & Sales Operations

Understand how demand becomes an opportunity, how an opportunity becomes an order, how an order gets fulfilled, how fulfillment becomes an invoice, and how the organization knows whether the entire process is working.

An operational journey map — not an IT audit

The day is structured around how work actually moves through the American Retirement Association: who owns each step, where information is re-keyed, where approvals stall, and where revenue is at risk of leaking. Systems matter only insofar as they help or hinder that flow. We walk real transactions, interrogate real handoffs, and leave with a prioritized view of what to change first.

Advertising is only one part of the picture. Each line may carry its own selling, fulfillment, and billing model — the assessment determines whether those differences are deliberate.

On-Site Agenda

One day, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Wednesday, September 30, 2026 • 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Seven hours of focused sessions, each with its own objectives, questions, participants, and output. Expand a session to see how it is facilitated.

Objectives

  • Confirm the objectives and scope of the assessment day
  • Establish the revenue and product mix across all lines of business
  • Sketch the org structure and who owns each stage of the revenue lifecycle
  • Capture the top operational pain points leadership already feels

Key questions to ask

  • What does success look like 90 days after this assessment?
  • Which revenue lines matter most this year — and which are growing fastest?
  • Where does leadership feel the process breaks down today?
  • Which systems are considered systems of record versus convenience tools?

Guiding Principles

How we keep the day honest

Four facilitation commitments that separate an operational assessment from a technology discovery exercise.

Lead Management

Resist the CRM configuration trap

Lead management is a process, ownership, and revenue-impact conversation — not a tour of software settings. The useful questions are where leads originate, who owns them, and what happens when no one follows up.

Order-to-Cash

Walk real transactions, not diagrams

Take one or two actual recent deals and follow them end to end, asking "what happens next?" at every step. Live walkthroughs expose operational reality that process diagrams quietly hide.

Product Catalog

Rationalize the catalog

Advertising is only one part of ARA's commercial model. The question is whether sponsorships, events, memberships, subscriptions and training genuinely require different selling, fulfillment and billing models — or have simply drifted apart.

Automation

Ground AI in actual work

Do not ask where AI could be used. Ask what work is repetitive, rules-based, time-consuming, dependent on multiple systems, or delayed because someone has to chase another person. Those are the agents worth building.

Post-Assessment Roadmap

Five deliverables, published here

Following the on-site day, this portal becomes the Executive Readout — hosting each deliverable as an interactive, navigable artifact for ARA leadership.
